Assam Flood Recovery 2026 – Urgent Support Needed
Severe flooding in 2026 struck Upper Assam, including Sivasagar, Charaideo, Jorhat, and Golaghat. Homes, stored grain, livestock, and small livelihoods were damaged or lost. Families who had little spare margin now face the cost of starting over.
In many villages the water is receding. Recovery is the harder stretch: silt in fields, houses that cannot be lived in, schooling interrupted, and households — especially women-headed families, older persons, and daily-wage earners — that cannot rebuild alone.
Assam Foundation is raising independent funds for practical recovery support. Every gift is received by bank transfer and used for flood relief work in Assam.
